A Maureen Maguire Design from Caronie.

The strikingly beautiful Rainbow Lorikeet inhabits rainforests, woodlands, heaths and gardens along the East coast of Australia from it's northern tip to the island of Tasmania in the South. It is a screeching, chattering, acrobat, travelling in large flocks and interacting confidently with people. They are much loved for their beauty and personality.

The Rainbow Lorikeet in the design is seen on a branch or Banksia Integrifolia or Coast Banksia.

Banksia Integrifolia is commonly known as the coast banksia. It is a species of tree that grows along the east coast of Australia. It is found between  Victoria and central Queensland in a wide variety of habitats from coastal dunes to mountains. It is most often found as a tree up to 25 metres in height but has varied forms depending upon the habitat. Its leaves have dark green upper surfaces and white undersides which creates a striking effect on windy days.
