Quilter's hand & machine thread
There are different types of quilting thread, categorized by their fiber material, weight, and any special finishes. Which one is perfect for your project will depend on whether you are piecing blocks, machine or hand quilting.
Thread Fibre Type:
Cotton Thread is made from natural fibers and has a soft, matte finish.
Polyester Thread is strong, man made fiber with low lint and high tensile strength.
Cotton-Wrapped Polyester is a hybrid thread. It has a strong polyester core and a soft cotton exterior.
Silk Thread is a strong natural thread that works beautifully in appliqué or fine detail stitching.
Other threads include metallic, rayon, or invisible threads.
