Quilter's weight 100% cotton is a high quality fabric and is the best choice for patchwork and quilting projects.
Like all woven fabrics it is prone to some shrinkage, although less than would occur with cheaper types of fabric.
It is also less likely that the dyes in good quality cotton will bleed when the fabric is laundered.
It is a good idea to launder the fabric before using it in a project in order to avoid the damage which might be caused by shrinkage or bleed after the work is completed.
